Manigeh and Ian from Edinburgh met 12 years ago and between them they have ten grown up children and four grandchildren! They want to buy their first property together and since they both love the lifestyle in Spain, and the buzz of a busy town, they’ve chosen the seaside town of Torrevieja to base their search. About the area

Torrevieja is a city and region on Spain’s Costa Blanca. It’s a 40 minute drive south of Alicante airport, which has direct flights from the UK taking about 3 hours. It’s a hugely popular destination for holiday makers and the sparkling sea and sandy beaches are often filled with sun worshippers and families. And with over 12 miles of coastline, there’s definitely enough space for them all! There’s loads of beaches to choose from - La Mata is probably the most famous. There are pretty pedestrianised streets nearby lined with cafes, shops and restaurants, the perfect spot for enjoying al fresco lunches and afternoon sangrias. Torrevieija is also famous for its salt lakes; one pink and one green. Both are found in it’s beautiful Nature Park. With summer temperatures reaching 31 degrees I can see why Manigeh and Ian think this could be their perfect spot.
