About the area

Lanzarote is the most eastern of the Canary Islands, and enjoys warm temperatures all year round. Direct flights there take under 5 hours from the UK. The island as a whole has an almost lunar landscape, with over 300 volcanic cones and some black sand beaches. We’ll be searching in the centre of Lanzarote’s south coast, around the well-known tourist destinations there. Like Puerto Del Carmen–which was once a fishing village and has now developed into the island’s most popular resort. Divided into its old and new town, the former has a lovely harbour with a great market every Friday. And Costa Teguisa, which was purposefully built in the 1970s to welcome tourists. It’s got four naturally sandy beaches, and is really popular with families and windsurfers. With Justin Bieber, Penelope Cruz and Jenson Button all said to be fans of the island, Sarah and Ian are in good company for wanting to spend time here.
