Semi-retired children’s nurse Tracey is looking for a holiday home in La Duquesa on Spain’s Costa del Sol and she’s brought along her friend Jackie for moral support. About the area

The region of La Duquesa is a 45 minute drive from Malaga airport to which direct flights from the UK take under 3 hours. It’s long been a bit of a hidden gem along the Costa Del Sol and there remains vast swathes of unspoiled natural scenery and authentic Spanish character. However, this tranquillity is fast becoming mixed with a thriving tourist and expat community, as La Duquesa is one of the Costa Del Sol’s fastest growing regions - the number of residents has almost tripled in the last 10 years. There’s now a glitzy marina with a fab atmosphere heightened by its surrounding shops, restaurants, and bars.
