About the area
The second largest of the Canary Islands, positioned some sixty miles off the north western coast of Africa, Fuerteventura is roughly a four and a half hour flight from the UK. As you would expect on an island that's part of Spain, the towns and villages here have quite a Mediterranean feel, but we’re much closer to the equator than your usual European holiday destination, meaning the weather is pretty special. With year round sun and winter temperatures often in the twenties.
