Gran Canaria, Spain- A Place in the Sun

Gran Canaria, Jasmine Harman

Jasmine Harman jets off to the Canary Islands to help retired architect Nick and former journalist Tim find their dream holiday home from home in Gran Canaria. They’ve been together for 10 years and love living by the sea on the Cornish coastline. Now, they hope to find a holiday bolthole that will be their perfect escape from the chilly British winters. With a budget of £250,000 can Jasmine deliver their dream with any of the 5 fantastic properties she’s found?

About the area

It takes just over 4 hours to fly to Gran Canaria from the UK–and nowhere on the island is more than an hour and a half’s drive from its main airport Gran Canaria is the third largest of the Canary islands, with nearly 150 miles of coastline which is a mixture of rocky outcrops and sandy beaches, but there’s loads to do inland here as well, with beautiful mountainous countryside dotted with traditional Canarian towns and villages.

Gran Canaria is also officially one of the sunniest places in the world, averaging almost three thousand hours of sunshine each year
