About the area

Lot et Garonne is found in South West France. Its closest airport is Bergerac, about an hour and twenty minute drive north and to which there are direct flights from the UK. About 300,000 people live here and the region is named after the rivers Lot–which flows through the north, and Garonne which traverses the south. In the north of the region particularly, the landscape is filled with wooded countryside, small scale farming and fruit trees. Dotted around are beautiful medieval villages bursting with French charm. As well as the historic buildings, many have local markets, quiet squares and impressive castles.
