Allie and Cliff have decided to leave the UK and find their new forever home on the beautiful Greek island of Crete. With a big enough budget to qualify for the Golden Visa scheme once they buy they can spend as much time on the island as they want. Ben Hillman has been tasked with finding the best properties around for their £240,000 budget but will he get it right?

About the area

You can fly direct to Crete from the UK in around 4 hours to either of its two international airports, Heraklion in the centre of the island, or Chania in the west. Crete is the largest and most southerly of all the Greek islands, with a population of more than six hundred thousand people–who are joined by almost three million tourists each year, drawn by the island’s great mix of sun sea and sand, lively nightlife and fascinating historical sites. Along with the rest of Greece, Crete is currently very popular with British buyers due to its attractive–and affordable–golden visa.
