About the area

Abruzzo is a coastal region in central Italy. It can be flown to directly from the UK in under 3 hours. With the Adriatic Sea to the east and the snow peaked Apennine Mountains to the west, Abruzzo is packed with natural beauty, especially as most of its countryside is made up of national parks and reserves. Dotting these rolling hills are beautiful, traditional towns and villages. Their cobbled streets and piazzas are full of history and an authentic sense of community. Abruzzo also boasts the Trabocchi coast, which stretches for over 40 miles with dramatic high cliffs and pebbly beaches. Along this coastline are the famous Trabocchi - wooden fishing huts sitting in the sea.
