Laura Hamilton jets off to the Mar Menor on the east coast of Spain to help taxi driver Mark, and Gill who works in commercial cleaning. Spain is a very special place for Mark and Gill as it was the first country they visited as a couple 12 years ago. They’re looking for a two bedroom apartment with some private outside space and have a budget of £60,000. About the area

The Mar Menor or ‘small sea’ is a rather large saltwater lagoon lined with sunshine holiday resorts, and it’s pretty easy to get to as is just a thirty minute drive or bus ride from Murcia airport. The lagoon itself provides the region with a plethora of white sand beaches perfect for families and a host of water sports as it’s calm, has shallow beaches and its high salt levels keep you afloat. Los Alcazares is the most central of the resorts here and has a great holiday vibe, but there are also more laid back developments away from the coast, that are growing in popularity like La Puebla.
