Liz has dreamt of owning a holiday home in the sun for years and now her 3 sons have flown the nest there is no time like the present to find that dream property in her favourite part of Catalonia – Sitges. Jasmine Harman lines up 5 impressive options for her £180,000 budget but will Liz and her best pal Grazia like any of them enough to put in an offer?
About the area
The best way to get to Sitges on Spain’s north east coast is to fly into Barcelona which takes around two hours from the UK – then it’s about twenty five minutes’ drive. Sitges – known as the St Tropez of Spain – is one of the swankiest spots on the Catalan coast – in fact in the whole of Europe, and plays host to the rich and famous all year round – footballing legend Lionel Messi has a home here. But if you don’t quite have the budget for Sitges itself there are loads of beautiful seaside towns and villages along this stunning stretch of coast where you can enjoy the sun sea and sand without having to empty your wallet to do so.
