Craig Rowe is house hunting in the southern French city of Carcassonne with Sue and Tony in search of their perfect holiday bolthole, working with a budget of £100,000. This isn’t their first viewing trip to the area, and there’s already a property on their radar, but will any of the five Craig has lined up have enough to beat it?
About the area
It takes around two hours to fly from the UK to Carcassonne, a town in southern France with an old walled city at its heart. Once occupied by the Romans and famous for the medieval themed board game of the same name, Carcassonne now welcome loads of tourists and expats particularly those from the UK. And it’s not hard to see why, with its slower pace of life and gorgeous Mediterranean climate, all within reach of both the beaches of the Med and the hiking trails and ski runs of the Pyrenees mountains.
