Julie and Paul both have demanding jobs as engineers so they’re searching for a holiday home where they can totally relax and switch off. They’ve set their sights on the countryside of Tarragona in north-east Spain as the perfect place. Working with their £100,000 budget property expert Leah Charles-King has five wonderfully rural places to show them but will any be perfect enough to loosen Julie and Paul purse strings?

About the area

The region of Tarragona in eastern Spain is pretty easy to get to with Reus airport, just outside the city of Tarragona a two hour flight from the UK. Despite its proximity to Barcelona, an hour or so to the north Tarragona is a relaxed and peaceful region popular with people looking for a country property to live the good life and enjoy the natural surroundings. The Ebro river snakes through the countryside here flanked by several wildlife reserves and mountain ranges alongside a number of rather traditional towns and villages such as Mora d’Ebre that with be the centre point for this search.
