Ben Hillman jets off to help retirees Lisa and Neil from Staffordshire. The couple have a long-held dream to buy a holiday home in Spain they can share with their children and the Costa Calida seems the perfect spot! They have a budget of £100,000 for their perfect holiday home and Ben has 5 great properties – but will they love any enough to put in an offer?
About the area
The Costa Calida is a 150 mile stretch of coastline in the Murcia region of Spain. Direct flights to that airport take under 3 hours from the UK. Literally translated as “warm coast”, the area is said to enjoy its own microclimate and has almost 20 blue flag beaches with clear, shallow waters. Quieter than other stretches of Spain’s southern coasts, the Costa Calida also includes 20 nature reserves and the Mar Menor – Europe’s largest salt water lagoon. The towns and villages that can be found in the region feel traditional and many have lovely old churches to explore. As well as all this there’s also a world renowned golfing scene to enjoy too.
