Lucy Alexander is in Lower Normandy in France with Tracy and Lee from Greater Manchester who run a dog walking business together. The couple have a budget of £70,000 to buy a holiday home which could one day become their permanent home. Lucy’s hunted out 5 fantastic properties for them to see, but will any of them hit the mark?
About the area
Lower Normandy in north western France is about four hours’ drive from Calais – or you can take a ferry to Caen which takes five to six hours and then it’s just over an hour’s drive. Lower Normandy is one of France’s biggest agricultural areas, perfect for foodies and renowned for delicacies like cider and camembert cheese – and after filling up on all those tasty treats there’s some simply stunning countryside full of woodland lakes and rivers to work it all off – not to mention pottering round the streets of the region’s quaint Normand towns.
