Ben Hillman is house hunting in Spain with Penny and Mark. The couple have been together for 6 years and have been coming to Spain since they were teenagers. They both share a passion for the coast and countryside South of Granada, and are now in a position to buy their dream holiday home. They want a house with enough room for them, their grown-up children to visit, AND space for their 3 dogs too! About the area

The best way to get to the south of Granada is to fly to Malaga which takes roughly 3 hours from the UK – then it’s about an hour’s drive. Granada in southern Spain is a great mix of seaside and countryside – with around 50 miles of Costa Tropical coastline along with the Sierra Nevada mountains, open spaces where loads of produce is grown and dozens of pretty historic towns and villages. It’s a traditionally Spanish area and less of a holiday destination than some of its neighbouring Costas, but the region is growing in popularity with buyers from Spain and other European countries.
