Lynn and Barry from the West Midlands are looking for a detached house in Spain’s Northern Costa Blanca, where they plan to permanently relocate along with their two cats Bob and Marley. Tasked with finding them the perfect place is property expert Lee Juggurnauth, who will be showing them the best of what their £180,000 can get them. But with a wish list that includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a private pool, will any of the five properties Lee shows them pass muster?
About the area
We’re going to be looking for properties in an area of the Costa Blanca about halfway between Valencia and Alicante in south eastern Spain - you can fly into either city in about two hours from the UK, and then it’s about an hours drive from either airport.
The Northern Costa Blanca is a great mixture of lovely beaches and coastal towns along with beautiful countryside and mountains – and while there’s loads to do for holidaymakers, it’s still very much a Spanish area rather than a tourist resort, with a thriving agricultural and fishing industry – though it’s becoming more and more popular with buyers from all over Europe – including famous names like Catherine Zeta Jones and Nigella Lawson, both of whom have holiday homes in the area.
