About the area

Nerja is on the eastern end of the Costa Del Sol in the south of Spain; to get there it’s around a 3 hour flight to Malaga from loads of UK airports–and then it’s about three quarters of an hour’s drive. Nerja is one of the most popular tourist resorts on the Costa Del Sol, known not only for its beaches but also for its prehistoric caves and the Balconde Europa, which has stunning views across the Med. And there’s still lots going on here out of peak season–the town has a year round population of more than twenty thousand, a third of whom are from outside Spain. Nerja is built around its old town which still has a traditional Andalusian feel, with more modern developments on the outskirts
