About the area

The main airport in the Algarve is Faro, which takes a little bit under three hours to fly into from the UK. From there it’s just half an hours drive to Vilamoura which is where we will are basing our house hunt. The Algarve is one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations and that’s no surprise – there’s something for everyone along its 125 mile long coastline. Vilamoura – which literally means Moorish Town – is one of the most upmarket towns on the Algarve, known for its golf courses, massive marina and being a destination for the rich and famous – Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has a holiday home here.
