About the area

Almunecar is situated on the Costa Tropical in southern Spain – to get there you can fly in to Malaga airport – flight time from the UK is around 3 hours, then it’s about a hours drive. Almunecar is a very popular place for holiday makers to visit but due to its long history dating back to Phoenician times – it feels more like a traditional Spanish town than a modern tourist resort. That said, there’s still tons to do here – Almunecar has 18 beaches along its twelve miles of coastline and is also popular with foodies who love its fresh fish and tropical fruit grown in the surrounding countryside – and there are more than 100 restaurants where you can do that!
