Eastern Algarve, Portugal - A Place in the Sun

Eastern Algarve, Portugal Danni Menzies

IT business-owner Colin and dog-trainer Janet met on a cruise three years ago. Their dream is to spend their retirement together in the sunshine and open a new chapter in their lives by buying a holiday home on the Eastern Algarve in Portugal. For their budget of £350,000 Danni Menzies has come up with five great options to show them, but will any be perfect enough to put in an offer?

About the area

The eastern Algarve is typically associated with a more unspoiled and rural Algarve than the central and most visited region, and is home to picturesque towns like Tavira as well as secluded island beaches. Many of the towns retain their original features and haven’t been converted into resorts with high rise apartments.

The Algarve has long hot summers, pleasant spring/autumns and winters that are mild but unpredictable with an equal number of bright days as wet days. The height of the tourist season is from July through to August.
