North Tenerife, Canary Islands - A Place in the Sun

North Tenerife, Canary Islands Jasmine Harman

Lou and Tony want a holiday home in Tenerife with great views and lots of outdoor space to enjoy with all their family. Jasmine Harman shows them what their £300,000 budget can buy.

About the area

Around a four hour flight from the UK takes you to Tenerife, the largest of the Canary islands, off the west coast of Africa. Tenerife is well known for its characteristic black sand beaches and crystal clear sea, perfect for a spot of swimming or surfing. The island enjoys year round sunshine and warm temperatures. Though only around 50 miles long from top to bottom, Tenerife has a big divide. While the south is known as the livelier part of the island, and hotter too,  attracting more tourists, the north gets more rain and has a lush landscape, and a more laid back feel.
