When purchasing a property abroad, it’s always a good idea to learn some of the local language to help get you by during the buying process. Although many of the agents, lawyers and other professionals you'll work with will speak English, this isn’t always a guarantee, so it’s advised to learn some of the property terms beforehand.
Pronouncing certain locations might also be difficult to grasp, but practice makes perfect. And that’s why we challenged Jasmine Harman and Jonnie Irwin to a head-to-head challenge at A Place in the Sun Live at Olympia London to test their Portuguese skills, with a little help from the locals.
