Jacko's house up for auction

Michael Jackson's final house is due to be auctioned on Saturday the 17th of December, with an 'open week' beforehand to allow potential buyers and voyeurs the chance to view the King of Pop's fixtures and fittings.

The mansion, located in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles, will host the open exhibition between the 12th of December and the auction, and is expected to attract international interest.

Among the 54,885 square ft property's A-list highlights are six bedrooms, 10 fireplaces, a private cinema, grand piano and swimming pool. Most of the property's interior is also being auctioned, including antique furniture, artwork and sculptures, as well as the headboard from the bed in which Jackson died. Also up for auction is a blackboard on which one of Jackson's children wrote “I (heart} Daddy. SMILE, it's for free", which is expected to fetch at least $400.

Jackson lived in the property with his three children from 2008 until his death in June 2009, following the sale of his famous Neverland ranch.

The house was rented from Hubert Guez , CEO of the Ed Hardy clothing brand. It currently has an asking price of $23.5 million and has previously been on sale without attracting a buyer.
