New flights from London to Spain

Demand for homes in the Spanish hotspots of Malaga in the Costa del Sol and Palma on the island of Mallorca could improve on the back of news that BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary of British Airways (BA), will introduce new flights to these two destinations from London City Airport.

In response to high demand from London City Airport travellers, BA CityFlyer, has announced a new route to Malaga and increased frequency of flights to Palma.

Many Brits working in the City of London often travel abroad from London City Airport in order to escape the hustle and bustle of the capital, with some already owning homes in places like Spain.

BA CityFlyer will fly to Malaga three times a week from 8 June 2011, while flights to Palma and Ibiza will increase from four to ten per week between July and September, the height of the holiday season.

Ignacio Osle, Sales & Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey de Espana, comments: “This is another positive step for Spain welcoming increased passenger numbers from London and the south-east of England. Demand is high for the Costa del Sol and Mallorca with many air travellers taking their holidays in these sunshine destinations but also we have great number of home owners in these regions so more flights allows greater flexibility in accessing second homes throughout the year.”
