Full Description
Fuseta, a village full of history and tradition
Land of fishermen, it still preserves many of its cubic houses, topped by terraces - the roof terraces - from which the curious balloon chimneys, characteristic of this area of the Algarve, emerge.
The truth is that the population of Fuseta has always been very connected to the sea and in the century. He distinguished himself in the epic of cod fishing, precisely in the same Newfoundland. It was in Fuseta that the best fishermen in the country were recruited! The living conditions in these icy seas were very harsh and every year some did not return, either because dory (small individual boat) sank or because the impenetrable fog prevented him from returning to the mother boat forever!
The Mother Church keeps some good images from the Xviii century. Its churchyard is a viewpoint over the village, with vast horizons of the Ria and the sea.
The main activity of this village continues to be fishing
