This charming 2-bedroom cottage is a two minute walk from the main square in the medieval hilltop town of Sancerre, in the heart of the Loire Valley. The property has a terrace, its own walled garden and a private parking space. Shops, restaurants and top quality wineries are all on the doorstep!

The property has been fully renovated and all the accommodation is arranged on one level. There are two double ground floor bedrooms, bathroom, fully fitted kitchen and a living/dining area. There's a large cellar and a loft space that could, subject to necessary permissions, be converted into further accommodation.

The south-facing garden is very pretty and the gates can be closed, making it safe for children. There is a sunny terrace leading up to a lawned area where you can sit in the shade under the apple tree - the perfect spot for lunch or to enjoy a glass of locally produced wine (of which there is no shortage in Sancerre!).

Location:

Sancerre is an ancient walled town set high on a hill in one of France's best loved, wine growing regions. The views over the vineyards and the River Loire from the village are simply stunning.

The cottage is situated on a quiet road, a few minutes from the centre of the town where you'll find a wide selection of shops, restaurants and cafe's. In the summer months there are regular wine-tasting events in the town.

There's a small produce market held on Saturday morning in Sancerre with a larger market held on a Sunday and Wednesday in nearby Cosne-sur-Loire. Bourges, the regional capital is about a 35min drive and here you'll find a fabulous produce market at the Halle au Ble.

There are lots of good restaurants locally, the pick being La Tour, Pomme d'Or and Clos M.

The famous River Loire offers plenty of opportunities for canoe trips and picnics and is a great way to experience the stunning scenery of the Loire Valley. The area has dozens of wonderful chateaux and of course plenty of opportunities for wine-tasting. There are lots of picturesque cycle routes which take in the best of both these. The famous The historic towns of Bourges and Nevers are also within easy driving distance.

Paris is about a 2hr drive whilst the ferry port at Caen can easily be done in half a day.
