Looking south from a height of 600 ft down over the jewel-like Southern Grenadines, the house has truly breathtaking panoramic views all around. The wooden sundeck, located at treetop level just below the pool, is ideal for enjoying those fantastic views.

The living spaces grouped around the central pool emulates high end house design in Morocco - where careful alignment to the prevailing breezes, plenty of shade and a pool become very much part of the house - providing wonderfully cool living spaces and an elegant atmosphere throughout the day.

Interior

Living, Games, Bedrooms, Guest Wing, Media, Terrace, and self contained flat (sleeps 12, plus housekeeper flat for 2)There are 5 large bedrooms in the main house, plus one in the separate self-contained Guest Wing which has it's own separate kitchen, balcony and terrace. All the bedrooms except one have their own ensuite bathrooms with walk in shower.

Most of the rooms have pleasing pitched roofs which gives a spacious airy feel throughout. The high ceilings, fans and through breezes keep all rooms refreshingly cool. Air Conditioning is completely unnecessary but could of course be installed if so desired.

Detailing

The grand louvered doors and windows are all made from the extraordinarily durable and hard to source Brazilian 'Ipe' wood.

All the showers are pebble lined, the built in seating, stairs and shelves have been carefully rounded off to soften the impact of such bold architectural lines. Wall recesses frame some of the owners art collection

The house is designed to be low maintenance and energy efficient.
From the coloured render on the outer walls and polished concrete floors negating any need for repainting, to the long lasting Amazonian hard wood used. 
There are 32 solar panels which feed back to the national grid - hugely reducing electricity bills.

Water tanks are located at the base of the five towers with a total fresh water capacity of 130,000 gallons (all collected via the roof during rainy season so is free and plentiful for all the needs of the house & pool).

Evening Light

The lighting system has been carefully designed by highly respected London based lighting specialist 'Mr Resistor', for maximum impact. Based on a wifi system which allows maximum flexibility to control the mood of each area. Mangwana truly comes alive at night. As seen in the image gallery the house offers several connecting areas ideal for gatherings (the current owners have held parties for up to 150 guests).

Location

Situated high on the hillside (yet still just a 7 minute drive from the islands best beaches), Mangwana is perched above the hustle and bustle of the harbour below - a true haven of peace but also the perfect place for families and large scale entertaining. Located on a no through road there are just 3 other high end properties as neighbours.

Offering astounding views over Friendship Bay, toward Mustique, Canouan and Union Island along with the neighbouring islands & Cays of Ballicaux, Battawia, Isle a Quatre, Petit Nevis, and over to Lower Bay Beach.
