A truly Cretan house in the beautiful traditional village of Drakona, just 30 minutes from the Venetian Old Town of Hania.
From the terraces and the roof of the house unfolds an amazing, theatrical setting, which surrounds the house. Absolute relaxation. The peace that prevails in the forest will relieve you from the noise of the city and will provide physical and mental health.
The layout of the house follows traditional architecture, where all its spaces meet in the courtyard, with a mulberry tree that protects from the strong sun.
An external staircase leads to the house’s tiled terrace with a breathtaking 180 degree views of the idyllic green surroundings and to the imposing White Mountains.
The house extends over 2 floors.
On the ground floor there is a large kitchen, reminiscent of our grandmother’s old kitchens. The family gathered in the kitchen and there they also welcomed the guests.Also on the ground floor with a separate entrance, there is a bedroom with a bathroom/shower.
Going upstairs, we are greeted by a large living room with a wood stove and two bedrooms. Each with its own bathroom. The master bedroom bathroom has a bathtub.
Very nice wooden ceilings. A new tile roof was installed in 2021.
The property benefits of wooden, traditional furniture, fully equipped fitted kitchen, aluminium, double glazed windows, air condition units warm/cold and solar panel.
The village is known for the beautiful routes on very old paths and for its gorges.
There are two taverns in the village, one of which is well-known for the traditional way of cooking, i.e. in ceramic pots, in an open space and on wood-burning stoves.
