Mojacar Old Town is steeped in history and rumoured to be the birthplace of Walt Disney!  Walk along the narrow streets with whitewashed buildings and pretty flowers all around, a truly romantic and magical setting.  Enjoy the many festivals that are held throughout the year such as the famous Moors and Christians in June, Easter Parades, Andalusia Day on the 28th February with the complementary giant paella in the square for all to enjoy, Valentine´s Day, Night of the Candles, Christmas, New Year´s Eve and the 3 Kings to name but a few.   This and the fact you are only a couple of kilometres to the wonderful coastline of Mojacar where you will find many excellent bars, restaurants, beach clubs and activities galore for all walks of life.  There is an excellent bus route from the Old Town down to the beach and neighbouring towns of Garrucha and Vera.  There is also a very good taxi service all year round.  You have plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, supermarket, bank, doctors, indoor swimming pool and gymnasium etc within the village itself and the market is on every Wednesday. All just a short walk away from your door!  If you like to explore our landscape a little further, you can venture out to the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, Almeria, approximately an hour’s drive, here you will find some incredible beaches in beautiful natural surroundings and old-fashioned villages with lovely little bars and restaurants by the sea. The nearest airport is Almeria, followed by Murcia, Alicante and Malaga.
