Full Description

A short 20 minute drive up from the coast and the historical village of Kardamyli is the village of Pedino. A very traditional greek mountain village, sitting at here 500mtrs above sea level. The village has seen quite some investment recently, with newly paved road and walkways throughout and repaving of the central square next to the beautiful church. Many of the old houses are being restored and the village has a fresh, living feel to it. Nestled between two gorges and surrounded by olive groves and forest, it is a very quiet, natural environment in which to live. The two cottages offered, are tucked in behind the main central church, with good parking and easy access by foot. As you approach the houses, you enter a lovely landscaped garden in a large plot of over 500m2 dotted with traditional bread oven, sterna's (water storage) and shaded hideways in which to retire. The properties date back to the 1800's and many of the traditional features have been retained, the main living areas being on the upper levels and bedrooms below, open wooden vaulted ceilings, restored kamara's for utility and wood storage and many other lovely features. Each house is entirely independent from the other, house 1 being the slightly larger at 127m2 with open lounge area above, two balconies and a kitchen area leading off this. Two bedrooms below with bathroom and a door leading off into the garden area. Heating is provided by a wood stove and air con units. House 2 at 117m2, has a lounge, open kitchen area and double bedroom on the upper floor. A double bedroom and bathroom, utility area are on the lower floor, again with a door leading out into the garden area. A large open balcony is at the entry to this property and provides plenty of outdoor space for entertaining and family meals in the summer months. Heating is again provided by an open wood fire and air con unit. Both properties sit within the garden area, complete with mature trees, shrubs and very well designed planted areas. During the spring, summer and autumn months a vista of bright colours and smells. Despite their ages, both properties are in very good condition, structurally and internally. They do require some modernisation as furniture and fittings are showing some age and a small investment will be needed to improve this. They are offered as a single unit for sale and would be ideal for a buyer looking to supplement their income with house rental or holiday lets, or the properties could be separated very easily and one of the properties resold , after modernisation works. A great investment opportunity in what is becoming a very desireable village to live. Properties have recently been fully legalised, with all documentation in place and are ready for sale. A permit has also been issued to allow some modernisation modifications to the properties.
