Access to the property is by way of a single pedestrian gate that opens onto the front lawned area and leads through the front garden to the covered terrace to the front of the house. There is an electric double gate that opens onto a large driveway where there is parking for several cars and leads to the spacious garage/workshop.
The front door opens into a very spacious entrance hall, that has tiled floors and double part glazed doors that open into the open plan living and dining room. This room is a good size and is flooded with natural light from the two sets of patio doors to the front that open onto the front covered terrace. Location
The property is located in the village of Cruzes which is part of the council region of Salir do Matos. Within walking distance of the house is a very well stocked mini-market where you can buy all your day to day groceries and household items. They have fresh bread every day. There are also three popular restaurants in this area, one only a short walk and next to the mini-market.
The town and beaches of São Martinho do Porto and Foz do Arelho are both within a 20 minute drive from the property. They are two of the most popular beaches on the Silver Coast.
São Martinho do Porto, on the Portuguese Silver Coast, boasts a beautiful shell-shaped bay, making it safe for families and offering safe swimming. The beach stretches all the way to Salir do Porto and is surrounded by numerous restaurants, cafes, a pharmacy, supermarkets, mini-markets, butchers, bakeries, pastry shops, gift and souvenir shops, clothing shops, and home and garden product stores. The area also features a promenade, a cycle track, and the Estrada Atlântica, providing fabulous walks.
The village of Foz do Arelho has several mini markets, cafes, restaurants, bank, hotels, as well as one of the most scenic and beautiful beaches in the area. The beach area is lined with a selection of cafes and restaurants. One one side there is the ruggedness of the Atlantic Ocean and on the other the safety of the Obidos Lagoon, making this a safe beach for families to enjoy. There are many outdoor activities carried out here including wind surfing, kayaking, sailing and other water-sport activities. There is also a sailing school where you can take lessons and rent equipment. A purpose built cycle track stretches from Foz do Arelho connecting to the Estrada Atlantica where you can cycle for miles. There are also fabulous walks that surround this entire area.
The main town of Caldas da Rainha is a 15 minute drive away. Caldas is a historic spa town, where you can find all amenities. There is a hospital, schools and the council for the municipality. The town also has a variety of restaurants (from various cuisines), shops, supermarkets and a very popular farmers’ market, where you can find fresh vegetables, fruits, and flowers.
Caldas is famous for its ceramic industry, one of the most characteristic ceramic styles in Portugal. Caldas also has a wonderful park, with a large lake, where you can see many different birds. The park houses different activities and events throughout the year.
It is a one hour drive to Lisbon and Lisbon Airport.
