It is about 35 kilometres from the city centre of Chania and 35 kilometres from the city centre of Rethymnon. The nearest airport is the international airport of Chania “Daskalogiannis” at a distance of 40 kilometres and the port of Souda about 30 kilometres.

The next village closest to Maza is Vrysses, a well-known traditional village with all necessary amenities such as schools, pharmacy, doctor, supermarket, petrol station, bakery and tavernas. Of course, there is Georgioupolis, which is about 6 kilometres away and also worth a visit during your stay in Chania. Some other areas of interest are Vamos (the nearest health centre), which is about 10 kilometres away, while the lake of “Kournas” should not be missed.

Maza offers everything you will need for a completely relaxing stay in Crete. Amazing natural beauty to enjoy your walks or just relax listening to nature. You can also visit many old churches in the area, but also enjoy your coffee or a traditional meal in one of the village taverns.
