Where to find a property for sale in La Manga

The world famous La Manga Club which opened in 1972 with 3,000 palm trees imported from Florida boasts some of the top sports and leisure facilities to be found in any self-contained tourist complex in Europe.

So why for some people is it the go-to place to buy in Murcia, and whom does it suit best? This resort with 8 FIFA approved football pitches, 28 tennis courts, three championship golf courses and an award-winning spa and fitness centre is clearly one for the sportier types amongst us. In fact, top football teams from around the world continue to train there.

Among these is an Irish style Mulligan’s Pub that offers karaoke and TV sport (of course), tapas, Thai, burger joints or the upmarket bars of the five-star Principe Felipe hotel.

But with everything on tap, the sprawling resort that is close to sandy beaches and national parkland is a firm favourite with families too. There are restaurants, all those bars, a kids club, mountain biking and all sorts of sports academies as you might expect.

With around 2,300 homes spread over 37 communities, it hardly ever feels crowded and there’s plenty of choice of homes to buy too. It’s not as affordable as some of the smaller resorts in Murcia, however, you do pay a premium for being on a successful resort that continues to invest in its facilities and keep up occupancy rates.

Entry level is a studio apartment for around €100,000, one-bedroom apartments for around €175,000 and two-bedroom properties from around €250,000 upwards. For a three-bedroom townhouse, you are looking at around €350,000.

This resort is perfect for those who like a round of golf and want an easily reached Spanish home that is lock-and-go with low upkeep costs - costs that can be covered by year-round rental income if you buy wisely.
