Lemon tree cottage is set in a picturesque valley surrounded by woodland with the sounds of a bubbling brook for much of the year. This renovated house is in the hamlet of Povoa do Frade which has the feeling of isolation but is approximately 18km to Serta and Oleiros and falls in the municipality of Serta.
The house was renovated in 2024 and is ready to move into. On the ground floor is an entrance hall, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms and a living room with wood burner. The living space has a hand made parquet wood floor sanded back to reveal its true colours. Hot water for kitchen and shower from an electric emersion heater. Double glazed windows are throughout with the original wooden shutters. A double glazed patio door with roller blind leads out from the living area onto a tiled patio with bbq which looks over the olive meadow and fruit terraces.
On the upper floor there is a large open plan room 48m2, ideal as a family room or additional bedroom. It has an insulated roof with tongue and groove timber. Attached to the main building is an Adega / storage room with new insulated roof and water and electricity.
The land is on three terraces which can be cultivated and has approximately 30 producing olive trees and a few other fruit trees including lemon, cherry, fig and chestnut. There is also animal housing which needs some renovation. Water comes from a strong flowing water mine of spring water. Electricity is on mains supply.
The house is situated in a small hamlet of 4 houses on a cul de sac. It is a 5km drive to the nearest village of Cruz do Fundao which has a café and mini market. To the south is Serta 18km/25minutes, a medium sized town with schools, college, shops and banks. To the north Oleiros 15Km/20minutes which also has schools, banks and grocery stores.
